15.1.2022 – 26.2.2022
Curators: Eti Pardo Nussbaum and Naftali Nahmani

The sculpture is a tribute to Ilana, a friend, artist and a unique woman. Ilana for me is mother earth with an open heart and an unconditional warm hug that it is impossible not to fall in love with. Her doing has always been done attentively, vigorously and accompanied by a genuine heartfelt smile. Her works and activism driven by love and faith and modesty.

Ilana was an inspiring leader, who brought together her love of creativity with a social mission to strengthen the weakened. In her socio-cultural endeavors she had acted extensively and had succeeded in bringing hearts together and linking the periphery to the center. Ilana struggled to make the world a better place by sincere desire of unconditional giving, combined with the innocence of a revolutionary.

Ilana was always full of strength and energy ready to move mountains and pass-through walls if required. This sculpture expresses the strength and energy that was inherent in Ilana’s personality, emphasizing her tender persistence. The female figure, cutting through the iron, demonstrates determination in its purest from. The void left, the silhouette, echoes her powerful presence. The figure changes as it moves, reflecting Ilana's abilities to contain and to reinvent.
