The installation concept is inspired by the unique volcanic landscape of the Massif Central. In my last visit to the area I was left with the impression of a strong presence of the earth energy brewing underneath the serene landscape. The installation translates this energy into a burst of red strips emerging out of an excavated fissure in the ground, using a seismogram to simulate volcanic eruption. The seismic power is represented by partially transparent red polycarbonate strips common in construction. The strips are in various sizes.
The red color simulates the lava, and acts as a warning sign to human depletion of our natural environment.
Materials: Transparent polycarbonate strips
Dimensions :650x70x220 cm
